Eddie Huddleston's Wartime Records

In February 1943, tailgunner Eddie Huddleston was assigned to  the crew on the B24 Wild Wolf. The tailgunner kept a logbook of detailed descriptions of his 50 missions, including information about targets, flight duration, weather conditions, and the amount of flack and enemy fighter resistance the crew encountered. Huddleston served on the plane flown by Charles Hobbs until he received an injury over Bari, Italy; a fellow crewman removed him from the hospital so he could serve with his original crew in Operation Tidal Wave, the low-level bombing mission over Ploesti, Romania. Huddleston appears to have used the information in his logbook to make more complete descriptions of missions in his scrapbook.
